Speak The Word

SPEAK THE WORD :  SHARE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU!

By Mary McCave

II Corinthians 5:18,19

Now, all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.  Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the Word of reconciliation.

God has brought us to Him through what our Lord and Savior accomplished for us. God wants us all, and His Word shows us how much He has done for us. Now, we have this ministry to carry out and proclaim to others so they can be reconciled to God.  Since we have been reconciled to God, we have this Gospel of light to preach to all people.

Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

Nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

We have the light of God’s Word in our hearts. Don’t hide your light in this dark and chaotic world in which we live. Let your behavior shine brightly with God’s Word living in you so others can see and glorify God. We need to speak to others about how God’s Word has changed our lives and all that God has done for us. When we speak this Gospel of deliverance to people, we carry out our ministry of reconciliation, bringing people back to God.

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Peacemakers are simply those who promote God’s Word of reconciliation to people. We bring the deep inner peace of God that can only come to a person’s heart when they, too, accept and choose to be reconciled to God. When we speak this gospel, we declare all that God has done for us through Christ, the deliverance we have received, and the kindness and compassion of God. We are God’s peacemakers and called the sons of God! By speaking this Gospel, we are bringing to people God’s peace in the midst of an evil and dark world. We are showing them, who are in darkness, that they too can have peace with God. They are no longer in opposition to God, our Father. To be with Him instead of against Him. To not have our Father in their life at all.

Worldly peace is only a “lull” in the chaos that we live in. It’s temporary, fleeting, and not fulfilling. True peace with God, to have His peace reign in our lives, can only come about by being reconciled with God.

We are the children of God. Since we have this peace with God, we have the Word of reconciliation; we are committed to sharing this Gospel of peace with others.

Matthew 9:37

Then he said to his disciples, “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

The harvest truly is plenteous. There are so many people who are around you who need peace and reconciliation with God. People in your own family and extended family, your co-workers, your neighbors, your community, we interact with so many people every day.

Psalm 105:1

Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.

Mark 16:15

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

We are to be witnesses to all people, no matter what country, city, or town you live in, and tell them all that God has done for us.

I Chronicles 16:24

Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

Psalm 71:15a, 18

My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and of Your salvation all the day long;

And even when I am old and gray, O God do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation. Your power to all who are to come.

Don’t give up when someone doesn’t want to hear what God has done for you; just move on. We encounter so many people each day.

Psalm 66:16

Come and hear, all who fear God, And I will tell of what He has done for my soul.

Psalm 107:2

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary.

We need to stand up and say so!  Say what we have been redeemed from! We have been redeemed from God’s enemy. We are no longer in bondage and lost. When we invite people into our hearts to share the deep inner peace we have, the blessings of what we now have, and the emotional and personal connection we have with our Heavenly Father, there will be people who are encouraged and changed by our lives.

II Timothy 4:2

Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.

In-season and out of season means to always being ready. You never know when and where you might meet someone and share God’s Word. About nine months ago, I was waiting for someone in the lobby of a medical building, and I saw a young woman. We got to talking, and I started to share with her all that God has done for me and my family, and we sat there for over an hour, speaking and praising God. Since that time we connected, we have been friends and prayer partners. Always be ready to speak about the wonderful works of God!

As you are reading this article, some people are doubting God. Some people are searching for salvation, and people are lost and don’t even realize it. There are so many people who genuinely want help and are searching for a better life. Some people have questions and are looking for answers about God. There are people who want to be accepted and feel loved.

We are commanded, and the need is great to share this Gospel of Peace. You must go out into the harvest and preach the Word of God. Declare all He has done for you and how you are reconciled back to God.

So, let me ask you,

“ARE YOU READY TO SHINE YOUR LIGHT? ARE YOU READY TO BE A WITNESS? ARE YOU READY TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOUR SOUL?”
